The MHS Donation Jar is a 2-prim tip jar for the SecondLife® community that gives people a token of your appreciation - a beautiful sculpted rose! By default, a red rose is given for any tip at or above 10L. But any one of six colors is configurable, and at any Linden threshold that you desire.

When people receive a rose after tipping into the jar, they right-click it in their inventory and select "Wear". This puts the rose in their right hand. And being transferable, you can give it to a friend!

For a truly elegant effect, a rotating model of the same rose is temp-on-rezzed in the jar for all to see. "Temp-on-rez" means it will not consume any of your land's precious prim count.

If someone clicks the jar, a tickler message is whispered. This message can be anything you desire. Another pleasantry is that upon tipping any amount (1L on up), one of six supplied sound objects (or any of your own) can be played at the desired volume.

Read some user feedback posted on the xStreet™ SL (formerly SL Exchange) and OnRez (retired) merchant sites.

Q: Can the jar hand out anything other than a rose?
A: Yes! You can configure from 1 to 6 custom objects. Click here for setting this configuration.

Q: I now see that xxxL$ have been put into my jar. How do I get the money?
A: You already have it! Check your SecondLife account's transaction history, where you will see that the money was there all along. When someone tips into the MHS Donation Jar (or any tipping device in SecondLife), the money goes directly into your account. The jar's hovertext is merely a reporting mechanism.

Q: Can I unlink the pedestal and just use the jar?
A: No. The internal messaging system between the various scripts requires that the MHS Donation Jar comprise a linked set (i.e., a single prim is not permissable). Unlinking the MHS Donation Jar will disable all messaging. However, if you're familiar with building things in Second Life, you could replace the pedestal with any other prim of your choosing. For example, a table! Just make sure the jar is the root prim.

Q: Can I move the scripts into my own prim?
A: No. The scripts must reside in the prim that they came shipped in. The scripts will disable themselves if they sense being put into anyone else's prim.

Q: How important is it for me to read all this documentation?
A: Not important at all, really. You can rez the MHS Donation Jar and it will begin working immediately for you. Then in time you can begin to fiddle with the options available to you when you click the jar. And if you get really hungry to learn more, you can re-visit this web site and learn the gritty details.
